This is something we get asked a lot, especially for this thinking of sponsoring or fundraising for one. Well there isn't a straightforward exact answer, it depends on a number of factor, including the cost of arranging the electrical connection.
The cost is approximately £2,100 where we can get a connection to an electricity supply eg Pretoria Bar or Station Bar.
Where we need to get a connection to a streetlight we need to get Roads/Lighting Team to dig up the pavements and build a new to hold the cabinet. That can cost an extra £2,700.
We also need to purchase replacement pads regularly. These will go out of date, and of course we have to replace after they have been used. Each defib has a battery which also needs replaced every 5 years. Current cost of pads is £60, a battery £300.
